Manage Customers and Income

Welcome to the Community space, @regina24.

Before anything else, we'd like to take this opportunity to thank you for allowing us to assist with your current situation. We aim to provide concise information to help you address your concerns on time. Please know that in QuickBooks Online (QBO), projects can only be with one customer and that the option to have multiple customers for a project is unavailable.

As a workaround, you can run separate reports for each of your customers with their projects and then export them outside QBO so you can combine them all into one Excel file. However, before doing so, you'll want to consult your accountant to ensure tracking and merging your data safely and to avoid encountering issues. Once you're ready, here's how you can export a report outside the program:

  1. Access your QuickBooks Online company.
  2. On the left navigational bar, go to the Reports tab.
  3. In the Search bar, enter the title of the report you want to export.
  4. Click the report and then beside the Printer icon, click the Export icon.
  5. Choose Export to Excel or Export to PDF.

Once you've got all the data you need exported, you can combine them. Also, if you wish to have the option to connect multiple customers to one project, we can help you send a feature request to our Product Development Team. This way, they can evaluate your suggestions and consider them for future program updates. These are the steps:

  1. Access your QuickBooks Online company.
  2. On the top right corner, click the Gear icon.
  3. Select Feedback and then enter your comments or product suggestions.
  4. Once ready, click Next to submit feedback.

Moreover, we've got these articles to help you add more details to your data, and learn more about what data can be extracted inside the program:

@regina24, you can always get back to us anytime. Feel free to post here if you have any additional QuickBooks-related queries. Rest assured. We've got your back. Take care, and have a good day!
