Manage Customers and income

Congratulations on setting up your VAT in QuickBooks Online (QBO), @adelarks. I'll make sure you'll get the precise VAT number on your invoices.

Yes. Editing the VAT numbers can be done through the VAT Centre. The details will be reflected on your invoices every time your print or send them to your clients. You can follow these steps if you need to modify the numbers:

  1. Sign in to your account as an admin.
  2. Click on Taxes at the left pane, then VAT.
  3. Tap on Edit settings under Edit VAT.
  4. Go to the What’s your 9-digit VAT registration number? section, the update the details from there.
  5. Hit Save when finished.

After that, record an invoice, then review the VAT registration number from there.

I'm adding these materials for more hints about the VAT feature in QBO:

If you're getting unexpected results while replicating the steps provided, I suggest accessing your account through a private window to narrow down the result. You can use either of these keyboard shortcuts to save you time:

  • Google Chrome: Ctrl + Shift + N
  • Safari: Command + Shift + N
  • MS Edge and Firefox: Ctrl + Shift + P

Then, clear your browser's cache to start fresh.
