Making Tax Digital
Thank you for joining the thread, @JDR81.
We can check the Close the books section and see if there's a date entered. If so, we can remove it and turn off this function. You should then be able to submit the VAT without receiving an error message.
Here's how:
- Go to the Gear icon.
- Under Your Company, select Account and settings.
- Click the Advanced tab.
- Select the Accounting edit pencil icon.
- Check if there's a date entered in the Closing date and remove it.
- Turn off the Close the books feature.
- Hit Save and then Done.
Once done, you can now submit your VAT returns. Then, record your tax payments in QuickBooks to keep your information up-to-date.
Whether you want to know more about MTD or have a burning question about the new changes and how they affect your business, this guide has everything you need to know.
I'll keep an eye out for your reply, so feel free to leave a comment below if you have more questions about filing your taxes. Have a good one.
