Making Tax Digital
Regarding the HMRC MTD connection issue (CLIENT_OR_AGENT_NOT_AUTHORISED) raised in my two previous posts, I have spoken to a QuickBooks support agent who took me through how to actually disconnect from MTD and reauthorise. The key thing is that going to “Take action” and switching off MTD does not work! You need to go to Settings - Account and settings - Advanced - Making Tax Digital and switch of HMRC connection from there. Then once checked on the tax page that it is off need to go back into the advanced settings and switch it back on at which point it will redirect you to HMRC login to reauthorise.
I suggested to the agent that either they make the “Take action” button route work, or at least publish help to explain how to do it. I assume many others will be experiencing the issue.
