We've made some improvements to our articles and archived the old one. That's the reason why the link is no longer available.

 

Before you proceed, please start by updating QuickBooks Desktop to the latest release. This will help you download the changes, improvements, and fixes that were made to QuickBooks.

 

Let me show you how:

  1. Select Help at the top menu bar, then choose Update QuickBooks.
  2. Choose Update Now at the top, then check the box next to Reset Update.
  3. Click Get Updates (check the screenshot below).

Next, download and use the QuickBooks File Doctor: Fix your company file or network.

 

Lastly, check out this updated article and choose the situation that suits you: Error -6000, -83.
