You're in the right place for help transitioning from QuickBooks Desktop (QBDT) to QuickBooks Online (QBO), SIGNNITIVE. I can guide you through each step of the process.
To ensure a smooth transition of your QBDT data to your QBO subscription, please keep in mind the following essential points:
- Make sure your chart of accounts balances is up to date and accurate
- Reconcile your bank and credit statements
- Categorize any open transactions
- Pay any outstanding invoices
- Ensure your balance sheet is with your latest tax return
- Finish any payroll runs or payroll tax payments
Moreover, the transition process can vary depending on the version of QBDT you currently use. For QBDT 2021 or older versions, you can use our web-based migration tool. Before doing so, please create a backup copy of your company file. Once done, convert your file to the online version. Here's the step-by-step process to accomplish this:
- Choose the link for your QBDT version:
- Select Get Started, then sign in with your Intuit account.
- Click Select file and look for the backup copy.
- Pick the Continue with uploaded file option.
- Hit Select file and choose Open to upload your file.
When your file is uploaded, we will auto-update it to the latest version of QBDT. You'll then see an option to move to QBO. You can then follow the on-screen instructions to guide you through the movement. For more details, reference this article: Move your QBDT file to QBO.
