First, it's important to note that the article you shared is for QuickBooks Desktop (QBDT) users. The article focuses on updating customer information by double-clicking the individual customer in the customer details page, rather than providing a dedicated Edit option.

 

To easily mass-update your customer's information in QBDT, you can edit it directly within the customer details page by following these steps:

 

  1. Go to Lists in the main menu.
  2. Open the Add/Edit Multiple List Entries window.
  3. Select the List drop-down arrow and choose customers.
  4. Proceed to edit the customer's information by double-clicking each item.
  5. Once done, hit on Save Changes.

If you're a QuickBooks Online (QBO) user, while it doesn't have a built-in tool to mass update customers, there are alternative solutions that can help streamline this process. Some third-party providers offer apps with QuickBooks Online to provide bulk editing capabilities.

 

To look for a third-party app, here's the detailed steps:

 

  1. Go to the Apps menu on the left navigation bar.
  2. Click on the Find Apps tab.
  3. Search for the app you wish to connect to in the search bar or select the Browse category drop-down to search for an app by category.
  4. Select the app you wish to download.
  5. Hit on Get App Now.
  6. Authorize the app to connect to your QBO.
  7. Follow the remaining steps to connect and set up the app settings of your choice.

 

You can manage all third-party app connections in the My Apps tab.
