Hi there, @Rudy O. I'll help you update your file.
Are you switching to a newer QuickBooks Desktop version? You must log in as an admin user to update your company file. Follow these steps:
- Open the newer version of QuickBooks.
- Click the File button, then Open or Restore Company,
- Choose Open a Company file, then click the Next button.
- Find and select your data file, then Open.
- Sign in to your company file as the admin user.
- Optional: QuickBooks automatically creates a backup of your existing company file. You can select Change this default location to save the backup in a specific folder.
- Select Update Now.
- When QuickBooks finishes, select Done.
You can now open your company file in your new version. Additionally, make sure to back up your file regularly. This way, you can recover your data from any unexpected issues that may arise.
