It's possible that your backup file is broken, or that some QuickBooks Desktop components are missing, ADVAV.
To identify the underlying reason of the issue, we can run a number of tests to restore your company file from your backup copy. Let's start by opening an example file.
If you can open a sample file without any issues, download and install the QuickBooks Tool hub and then run the Company File.
If a sample file isn't running, perform QuickBooks Desktop repair to ensure that there are no missing components that cause the software's unusual behavior. Here's how:
- Restart your computer, then open the Windows Start menu, then click Control Panel.
- Select Programs and Features, then Uninstall a Program.
- Choose QuickBooks from the list of programs, then click Uninstall/Change.
- Select Continue or Next.
- Click Repair, then Next and hit Finish.
If the issue persists, I recommend contacting our QuickBooks Desktop Support. They can do screen sharing to further assist you with retrieving your company file.
Feel free to post a response in the comments section below if you encounter additional errors. ll be around to take care of it.
