Hello there, Jeremy.
I'm here to share information about upgrading QuickBooks Desktop from 2018 to 2013.
There's no problem upgrading from QuickBooks Desktop Enterprise right to 2023. An upgraded version helps you have a better experience and ensure to always have the latest features and fixes. We can update your QuickBooks Desktop from our official website. Here's how:
- Go to the Downloads & Updates page.
- Click the standard setup link.
- Select the country, product (QuickBooks Desktop Enterprise), & version (2023).
- Click the Search button.
- Hit Download.
- Restart your computer after installed successfully.
Once done, we can restore the upgraded file to another computer. Let me show you show:
- Install QuickBooks Desktop on the new computer.
- Create a backup on your original computer.
- Save the backup file. Give it a unique name so it's easy to identify. This also prevents accidental overwrites.
- Save the backup file somewhere you can easily find it, like your Windows desktop.
Now, we can move the upgraded file to your new computer. Note: You can put the backup on a flash drive or an external device. Or you can share it if your new computer is on the same network.
- On the other computers, go to the File menu and select Open or Restore Company.
- Select Restore a backup copy and then Next.
- Select Local Backup and then Next.
- Browse your computer for your backup company file. It should look like this: [Your company name].qbb.
- Select a folder to decide where to save your restored company file. Then select Open.
- When you're ready, select Save. If you see any messages about possibly overwriting your data, select the option that best fits your needs. Don't overwrite anything unless you know you want to.
Also, we can use this article to find out what your computer needs to have for best experience: System requirements for QuickBooks Desktop 2023.
I'm always here to help if you have more concerns about upgrading your QuickBooks Desktop and other questions about QuickBooks. Take care always.
