Quickbooks 2022 installer keeps forcing reboot, won't install
We are currently running Quickbooks Desktop 2021 Pro, and were looking to install 2022 Pro to stay on top of our Payroll updates; however, while most of our computers were able to install 2022 Pro without issue, we are having a strange problem with one of them. This computer is a client running Windows 10 Pro.
Unfortunately I do not have screenshots at the moment, but the following happens:
- Run installer as downloaded from Quickbooks (the same file was used on each computer), and running as admin
- Go through installing VC9, vc_redist x86/x64 without issue
- Gets to installing Quickbooks itself, and almost immediately requests that the computer be rebooted
- Clicking yes causes an error messages from the installer to very briefly pop up (not long enough for me to see), then the computer reboots as normal
- Installer starts again automatically, beginning at Step 2... and repeats the same process over and over.
I've tried clicking "No" on the prompt to reboot and restarting manually, but it claims that the install was interrupted and I end up having to start again from scratch. Every install has been set to "Custom" and selecting the option that the company file is not hosted on the computer, and deselecting the 'service shortcuts' option. Oddly I've noticed it doesn't detect the current Quickbooks 2021 installation and try to replace it, but I'm not sure if that's intentional or not.
