Thanks for clarifying what you want to accomplish with your QuickBooks files. Once you have QuickBooks installed on both computers, and since you will be the only one accessing and working in the QuickBooks company file, the best option would be to create a portable file that can be restored.  Here’s the sequence:

1. Update QuickBooks
2. Back up your company file
3. Create a portable company file
4. Open the portable file on the other computer
