I've got some troubleshooting options that we can try so you're able to connect your banks (TD and The Provident) in QuickBooks Desktop.

As an initial step, you can create a dummy company file to test if you're able to connect the following banks successfully.

  1. Open QuickBooks Desktop.
  2. In the No Company Open window, select Create a new company.
  3. Choose either Express Start or Detailed Start.

Then, try connecting your bank by following the steps below:

  1. From the Banking menu, go to Banking, then Set up Bank Feeds.
  2. In the Enter your Bank’s name field, enter and select the name of your bank.
  3. Connect your bank and follow the onscreen instructions.
  4. Click Connect, then Close.

Check out this article for your reference on how to set up account for Bank Feeds in QuickBooks Desktop.

If it works, I suggest going back to your company file and running the Verify and Rebuild Utility Tool. This helps repair any data damage in the system. Below are the steps on how to do this:

  1. From the File menu.
  2. Click on Utilities.
  3. Select Rebuild Data/ Verify Data.

However, if you're still unable to connect the banks, I suggest contacting our QuickBooks Support. They have the special tools to help conduct a deeper investigation on what's causing this behavior.

Here are the steps to contact support:

  1. Click Help at the top menu and select QuickBooks Desktop Help.
  2. In the Have a Question? window, enter a topic.
  3. Click Contact us.
  4. Hit the Get a callback button.
