Getting Started
Hi PIAlgw!
Thanks for posting here. Let me share something about accounts receivable.
Although you can set up multiple accounts receivable (A/R) accounts, QuickBooks Online uses a default one. This means that all A/R balances will be posted to one account only and we're unable to auto-link a customer to a different A/R account.
What we can do is create a journal entry to transfer the balances to a different A/R account. However, this procedure needs some guidance from your accountant.
Also, you'll want to use the class tracking feature to track transactions by segments. This will give you a more specific understanding of your company data.
I've added some links you can check. These will discuss more on how to handle your Chart of Accounts in QuickBooks Online:
- Manage default and special accounts in your Chart of Accounts
- Learn about the chart of accounts in QuickBooks
Post again here if you need more help. Take care always!
