Employees and payroll

Hi, jmeyer4RVC.

Allow me to step in and provide some update regarding generating the State Wage Listing report via QuickBooks Desktop.

Our Payroll Team is actively working to resolve this issue. I’d encourage you to contact our QuickBooks Desktop Support and have them attach your case to INV-24874, so they can add your account information to the notification list. That way, our engineers can send you updates via email when they are available.

To ensure we address your concern on time, check out our support hours.

As a workaround, you can run the report from previous quarters, and then when asked to update select "yes" and it can pull all the data correctly. If that does not work clean install of QuickBooks and Excel are possible fixes. Or, you can delete the 'QB_Payroll_Link.xlt' and re-download it.

Here's how:

  1. Close QuickBooks.
  2. On your computer, go to your C Drive. Then Program files (86x),
  3. Find Intuit, then Quickbooks20xx,
  4. Click Components and then Templates.
  5. Find the QB_Payroll_Link.xlt and delete it.
  6. Reopen QuickBooks and get a full payroll update.
  7. After updating, try opening the report again.

The following resources are good references. It contains information about exporting feature limitations as well as on what other Excel reports that are available in QuickBooks Desktop. Also, this will provide you steps on how to save reports as Excel Workbooks:

Please extend your patience while we're working for the permanent fix. Don't hesitate to drop me a line if you have other questions. Have a good one.
