Know that if I were in your shoe, I would feel the same way. For now, let me provide you with some information about this matter.

I've checked our records here and have discovered that there's an open investigation into this. Rest assured that our product engineers are working actively to get this issue resolved.

For now, I'll share some workaround that our engineers have provided by deleting and re-downloading the QB_Payroll_Link.xlt template to get rid of the error.

Let me guide you on how:

1. Close QuickBooks Desktop.
2. Open Windows File Explorer, and then select This PC.
3. Go to the C drive.
4. Select Program files (86x), then choose Intuit.
5. Go to the QuickBooks20xx folder, then click Components.
6. Click Templates, then find the QB_Payroll_Link.xlt file and delete it.
7. Reopen QuickBooks and get a full payroll update.

I'd also recommend contacting our Customer Support Team to add your account details to the notification list and ask them to connect your case to INV-24874. Any developments will be reported via email.
