Do More with QuickBooks

I'll share some information about tracking inventory in QuickBooks Online.

 

Bundling the item is the best way to track finished goods and raw materials. First, you'll have to create inventory items for your raw materials. 

 

Turn on the stock tracking:

 

  1. Go to Settings ⚙ and select Account and settings.
  2. Click Sales.
  3. Select Edit ✎ in the Products and services section.
  4. Turn on Show Product/Service column on sales forms.
  5. Turn on both Track quantity and price/rate and Track stock quantity on hand.
  6. Once done, hit Select Save and then Done.

 

Add stock items:

 

  1. Go to the Sales menu, then the Products and services tab.
  2. Select New, then choose Stock.
  3. Add your desired name under the Name field and fill in all the necessary information.
  4. Once done, hit Save and close.
  5. Repeat the same process for the rest of your raw materials.

 

Once everything is set, you can create a bundle item for your finished product.

 

Here's how:

 

  1. Go to the Sales menu, then the Products and services tab.
  2. Click New, then select Bundle.
  3. Add those raw materials for the finished product.
  4. Once done, hit Save and close.

Selling the finished product to multiple channels with different pricing isn't possible in QuickBooks Online. As an alternative, you can look for any third-party application that has these capabilities. Go to the Apps menu to find one.
