I read the PNG story. I tried it and I can say that at this moment you are correct. Having said that, if you have an Apple Macbook, there is a program app called Automator. Very powerful but most of us don't use it. Anyways, you can easily create your own application to perform actions that you would find tedious. Long story short, you would be able to drag a pdf file, into the Desktop icon that you'd create with Automator and it it will convert it into a png. For that matter, there are numerous choices of file formats that you could have chosen. Completely painless. I encourage you to search something like "create an automator to change selected pdfs to png files on macbook" on the web and I'm certain you'll find how to do that.
I don't have a PC, so I can't say if there is something similar, but I'd expect there is.
LOL. This png saving ability will likely disappear when they realize they didn't take that from us. I mean, why allow a PNG but not a Jpeg?
