Hi there, TF08.
I'm here to make sure you'll be able to type an account name/number into the Account field in QuickBooks for Mac.
A part of your QuickBooks data may have been damaged. This causes the program not to type an account name or number into the Account field. I'd recommend running the Verify and Rebuild Data utility. The tool scan data issues within the company file and self-resolves them. Beforehand, make sure QuickBooks is up-to-date.
Follow the steps below on how to verify data:
- Go to the File menu.
- Choose Utilities from the drop-down option.
- Select Verify Data.
- Click Ok to continue.
Next, here's how to rebuild data:
- Go to the File tab at the top.
- Select Utilities from the drop-down option.
- Choose Rebuild Data.
- Click Ok on Rebuild has completed.
I've added these articles that can help you in downloading, modifying, and categorizing your bank deposit transactions:
- Download bank transactions in QuickBooks Desktop for Mac
- Add and match transactions in QuickBooks Desktop for Mac
Please keep us posted if you have other questions about your accounts or deposits in QuickBooks. We're always here to lend a hand.
