As far as Bank of America credit cards are concerned, the .QBO file import has been broken for years now.
Every now and then I come back to QBO to see if they have fixed the problem yet, but no, the problem still persists, with error message "The uploaded file isn't a valid Web Connect file.". Very frustrating.
It's theoretically possible that the problem is on BofA's end, since presumably it was BofA staff that coded up the .QBO file exporter for BofA credit cards, but that would be something for QuickBooks staff and BofA staff to establish, not QBO users.
Given the number of QBO users who are complaining about this, and the length of time that they have been complaining, the least that QuickBooks could do would be to contact one or more of us, ask if they could have a look at one or more of our .QBO files, and then either prove or disprove that these files are valid Web Connect files.
And then with that information in hand, they should be able to figure out what the next step should be to resolve the problem - including possibly reaching out to BofA to collaborate on a solution.
But given the frustration level with this issue, for QuickBook to expect their users to jump through more hoops to try and debug this problem is clearly passing the buck. QuickBooks needs to own this issue and resolve it.
