Hi Cathy,

Wells Fargo messed with their download options since last Friday 1/19/18, and it may be affecting your Direct Connect link.  This might be a good work around until it's fixed:  

I gave up on connecting to WF directly through QuickBooks several years ago, mainly because I download multiple accounts for different companies.  Instead, I go to Wells Fargo in my internet browser and download transactions from there.  They just changed my download options to Quicken only, but apparently if you change the .qfx to .qbo, it will work as a QuickBooks data file.  Then, in QuickBooks, under "File->Utilities" you can import Web Connect files to your bank feed.  Hope that helps!
