SOLVED: To everyone who mysteriously lost their loan manager...
Ensure your Windows' settings has Internet Explorer set as the default web browser.
Mine was set to Chrome, and loan manager disappeared.
On a whim I reset my two machines' default from Chrome back to Internet Explorer, restarted the systems, opened QuickBooks and - voila! - loan manager is back.
