Would it be possible to know which bank you are currently using? In case you haven't tried any steps to fix the error you encountered, I have here troubleshooting steps you can follow. Before you troubleshoot, make sure to:
- Back up the QuickBooks company file.
- Update QuickBooks Desktop to the latest release.
- You're on a supported version of QuickBooks.
- The file you downloaded from your bank is a .qbo file.
Download a new Financial Institution list:
1. Hold Control on your keyboard and select the version of QuickBooks for Mac you're using.
- QuickBooks Desktop for Mac 2023
- QuickBooks Desktop for Mac 2022
- QuickBooks Desktop for Mac 2021
- QuickBooks Desktop for Mac 2020
2. Select Download Linked File As, then save it to your Desktop.
