I'm late to the party but we just started having this issue in our office using Google Chrome. We figured out what was causing our issue so I'm sharing in hopes of saving someone else the headache. For us, this was third-party cookie issue. By updating our settings to allow third-party cookies from Intuit.com, a verification code is no longer required.
To update the third-party cookie settings,
Click on the three dots in the top right hand corner of Chrome. Go to Settings > Privacy & Security > Third-party cookies. Scroll to "Sites allowed to use third-party cookies" and click "Add". Add the website [*.]intuit.com.
Some of our users had to go through one more verification code but after that, everyone that was having the issue no longer needed the code.
Good luck!
