To get back on track, you may want to switch to the desktop program again and upgrade the one you've previously used to the latest version (2024) before it becomes discontinued. Also, there will be a change in the availability of certain products for new U.S. subscribers after July 31, 2024.

Before getting the latest version, your computer must meet the system requirements to ensure it's compatible with your setup. Also, create a backup copy of your company file to prevent accidental loss.
When you open QBDT, you'll be notified about the availability of a new version. We already simplified the upgrade process to make it convenient for you:
- When you’re ready, click the Upgrade Now button.
- Choose Keep old version on my computer if you want to keep your current QuickBooks.
- Select Let’s go and then QuickBooks downloads, installs, and activates the new version for you, including the company file.
- Once completed, tap the Open QuickBooks button.
If you didn't see the pop-up, configure your one-time message prompts. Here's how:
- In your company file, head to the Edit menu at the top bar and choose Preferences.
- Go to the General menu and select My Preferences.
- Tick the Bring back all one-time messages box and click the OK button.
