Hello @Anonymous. We regret that we have to go through the process of deleting your Intuit account. However, I am here to assist you with the procedure to make it as painless as possible.

 

After you cancel your QuickBooks Online (QBO) account, the system will provide read-only access to your data for 1 year, and it will delete the data from the cancellation date. Nevertheless, if you cancel during a free trial or when your trial expires, your data remains accessible for 90 days.

 

To permanently delete your QuickBooks Online account, you must cancel its subscriptions. Cancelling, deleting, and deactivating your account all refer to the same action. It is advisable to export your data before proceeding with the account cancellation, as you may require it for future reference.

 

 If you haven't canceled your subscription, follow the steps below:

 

  1. Sign in to the QuickBooks Online account as an admin user.
  2. Click the Gear icon or Settings from the upper right corner. Then, select Account and Settings.
  3. Tap on the Billing and Subscription tab.
  4. Select Cancel subscription or Cancel online from the QuickBooks section.
  5. Once completed, you receive an email notification containing the cancellation details.

On the other hand, you have the option to submit a request for data deletion. You can log in to your Intuit account to remove your data completely from the servers.

 

  1. Visit accounts.intuit.com and log in to the account.
  2. Go to the Data & Privacy on the left of the page.
  3. Tap on Continue on the Delete line.
  4. Now, choose the Make a Delete request from the bottom of the page.
  5. Select Continue after you have confirmed your email address.
  6. Tick the boxes of all products you want your information deleted from, then select the Continue button.
  7. If you want to continue deleting your information, tick the box I understand what’ll happen after my data is deleted and I want to send this request, and select the Continue button.
  8. Enter your password for confirmation, then select the button Delete this data.
  9. Select Done after receiving an email.

 

You’ll receive an email with information about what will happen next. This can take a few days and up to 45 days. You will also see an option to cancel the request within 72 hours.
