Account management
Hi, there, @chic316860. I'm here to give you insights on how to manage closed accounts with QuickBooks Online(QBO).
Yes. You may inactivate closed accounts even if they have transactions in the prior year. You can achieve it by following these steps:
- Sign in to QuickBooks.
- Click on Chart of Accounts from the Accounting menu.
- Look for the closed account, then tap on Make inactive under Action.
- Hit Yes to confirm.
- Repeat the same steps for other banks.
The accounts will still show up on your reports with deleted marks. You can filter the information to get the most out of your reports. Here's an article you can open for your reference: Customize reports in QuickBooks Online.
If they were connected to QuickBooks, disconnect them from the Banking page.
- Click on the Transactions or Banking menu, then go to the Banking page.
- Select the tile for the bank account.
- Tap the pencil ✎ icon, then select Edit account info.
- Select Disconnect this account on save.
- Hit Save and Close.
This material will give you detailed instructions about the process: Disconnect accounts connected to online banking in QuickBooks Online.
Let me know if you have other questions about your accounts. I'm just a few clicks away to help. Have a good one!
