QuickBooks Desktop and QuickBooks Online accounts are two different platforms and intended to work independently from each other. With this, you don't have to use a license or product number when using QuickBooks Online (QBO). If you're referring to finding the company ID instead, you can see this number on the Account and setting page.
Here's how:
- Click the Gear icon in the upper right corner.
- Choose Account and settings. Then, select the Company tab.
- Go to the Billing & Subscription section and you'll be able to see your Company ID from there.
However, if you're looking for the product number and the license number for QuickBooks Desktop, you can visit the Customer Account Management Portal (CAMPS) to get them from there as long as you registered your product. Also, if you purchased QuickBooks in a physical retail location, the license number will be listed on the packaging.
Additionally, since you wanted to try the desktop version, I recommend first using the trial version.
