Account management

Hello there, Dr725.

I understand how it feels when a product no longer performs as expected. I'm here to share information about outdated products and help you with this.

Microsoft has released Windows 10, and the previous version of the Windows platform is being phased out. QuickBooks Desktop 2014 is compatible with Windows 8.1, Windows 7, and Windows Server 2003 computers. If you have Windows 10 installed, QB 2014 will no longer work due to the system requirements.

As a result, you'll have the opportunity to upgrade to the latest version of QuickBooks to continue working with it. If you want to keep using QB 2014, you can reinstall it in compatibility mode. This may not guarantee to work on your end, but it has been reported to work for other users. I'll show you how to do it.

  1. Download QuickBooks Desktop 2014 from the website: Downloads & Updates. Select the standard setup to select your QuickBooks version.
  2. Save it on your local drive.
  3. Once done, right-click on the setup file of the software and choose Properties.
  4. Click the Compatibility tab.
  5. Place a checkmark next to Run this program in Compatibility mode, then select Windows 7 or Windows 8.1 from the dropdown list.
  6. Let the installation finish and then check the functionality.

Take note that QB 2014 is no longer a supported version, access to add-on services such as Live Support, Online Banking, Payroll Services, Online Backup, and other services is unavailable.
