Account management

It's good to see you here, @AlabamaPamela.

I'd be delighted to share with you information on how the audit trail works in QuickBooks Desktop.

For starters, QuickBooks Desktop Enterprise keeps a record of each financial transaction as it is added, changed or deleted. By accessing the Audit Trail report, you'll get to see who made the changes in your company file and what changes are made. Lastly, you'll know when it was specifically changed.

Just make sure to choose the correct filter to show the information you need. You have to option show only the following: Entered/Last Modified, Last Modified by, Date, Name, and Account.

Here's how:

  1. Go to Reports.
  2. Choose Accountant and Taxes.
  3. Select Audit Trail.
  4. Customize Report.
  5. Under Display tab, choose the specific data you want to see on the columns.
  6. Click Ok.

On the other hand, I’ll take note of your idea about a specific and forward this specific add-on feature to our Product developers. You can also share your feedback and feature request directly from your QuickBooks account.

Here’s how:

  1. Click Help.
  2. Select Send Feedback Online.
  3. Choose Product Suggestion.
  4. Type in the  details of your request on the pop-out window.

Our Community articles have tips on how to get the most out of the advance reporting features in QuickBooks Desktop Enterprise, so be sure to check them out in your spare time: https://community.intuit.com/

That should do it! Stay in touch with me if you have follow-up questions about viewing your audit trail report.  I’m always here to help.
