It is a standard procedure in business to count stock regularly to check on shrinkage. Can I enter this stockcount in QB without having to go the route of printing a physical stock report and manually entering it by way of adjusting stock qty?
QuickBooks Online (QBO) does not have a built-in feature that allows you to directly import a physical stock count file to automatically update quantities without adjustments, Chriskreef32.
To update your stock counts, you will need to manually enter the counts or import adjustments. You can use the inventory quantity adjustment feature to input the quantities you've counted. After making these adjustments, QuickBooks will reflect any shrinkage by comparing the adjusted quantities to previous records.
Another option is to utilize third-party inventory management apps that integrate with QBO and support stock count imports and reconciliation.
