I am trying to batch change customer/project and class on recorded expenses. I downloaded Google sheets sync but not giving me a report with both those listed

I have seen in videos they have the "Edit Quickbooks records and sync back" I do not see this option.

There are two possible reasons why you're not seeing the option to edit QuickBooks records and sync back, @bobbogino. Let me provide more details about this.

It's noteworthy that the option you're trying to access is available only for QuickBooks Online (QBO) Advanced or Accountant versions, and is only accessible to users with admin-level access. You may consider upgrading to QBO Advanced/Accountant or reaching out to your account administrator for admin privileges, if needed.

After completing the necessary step, access Spreadsheet Sync through QuickBooks or from the navigation ribbon in Excel, since you've already downloaded the application. Refer to the screenshot below to access the Edit QuickBooks record and sync back.

I had already upgraded to QB online advanced before this.  How do I confirm my admin status?

Given that your subscription has been upgraded, @bobbogino, it’s likely that you are the primary admin of this company file.

To confirm, you can check the Manage Users option to view and verify all company members and their assigned roles. Here’s how

  1. Go to the Gear icon and select Manage Users.
  2. In the Users tab, review the list to see who's designated as the Primary admin in the company.

To address your initial concern about not seeing the Edit QuickBooks records and sync back option: while Spreadsheet Sync supports batch editing for some transactions, it does not include specific types, such as Expenses, Bills, and Checks. This is why the option is unavailable.

Instead, we can use a third-party application to export, edit, and re-import expenses with class or customer assignments.
