Buy nowHi -
I'm wondering how many other folks are experiencing the latency issues that apparently is a known issue.
We can barely function as a business right now and from what I was just told that an update will be pushed out on Tuesday (08.05.25).
I am genuinely curious how big of an issue this is for anyone else? For us, it's huge - we can't get anything done.
Thanks
Apparently an asleep-at-the-wheel engineer made a coding change that causes QuickBooks to open hundreds of your attachments (all of them?). And the change went untested as the rest of their team was also not paying attention.
Other posts here say that if you get all of the latest updates for QuickBooks that it seems fixes. You may want to restart the computer as well.
If that doesn't work, you can rename the attachments folder, though that will break access to all of the attachments. See:
This is a horrible issue. I can't work at all. I am at a standstill. My computer has been like this since last Wednesday. I can't believe QuickBooks, as big an organization as they are, does not have a fix yet. This can just about ruin a small business.
Thanks for the reply - the "asleep at the wheel" engineer has caused our company to lose 3 days and counting of actual work. This issue is costing our company money and time.
I do not see any attachments open when I try to complete a function. Is that something I should be seeing? The program just freezes up for a minimum of 3 to 4 minutes each time I am able to complete a function (i.e. create a sales order, create an invoice, run a basic report, etc.)
After talking to the QB tech support - they explained that there would be an update on Tuesday. Do you happen to know if that is still happening?
I am not comfortable with renaming the attachment file - and I'm 100% not comfortable with not having the attachments no longer tied to the specific transactions - that's sort of the whole point of attaching documents to transactions. (I'm not trying to be rude)
We have restarted all computers, restarted the server, ran the file doctor, etc. This was all while I was on a call with a QB tech - and afterwards the tech said that everything on our side was set up as it should be.
Thanks again for the reply - I appreciate the input. I just really wish QB would fix the issue so we can get back to work as usual.

I have seen this creepin around our clients as they get the R15_71 update. I completely uninstalled QB and then reinstalled QB as administrator. Ran all the updates as administrator. QB responded normally at R15_27. Update to R15_71 and it is broken again. We can't invoice or do payroll kind of a big deal for a small company.
There is a Permanent FIX NOW!!!
Just run the latest update and it should fix the problem.
Apparently, support says the fix is in...
You just need to run the latest QB update release.
Awesome!!!
Running the update now!
Thanks for the heads up.
I applied the fix this morning (it did not give me a choice). I went from r15_27 to r15_73. It appears to be working correctly now.
