QuickBooks 2018 desktop on windows 11. Any issues?

Hello there, smbdn.

We have not received any reports from other users regarding issues with QuickBooks Desktop (QBDT) 2018. To better understand the problem you've encountered, could you please provide more details? Any additional information would be greatly appreciated.

Please note that QBDT 2018 has been discontinued. If you're experiencing issues, they may stem from using this unsupported version on your current operating system.

If you would like to continue using QuickBooks, consider upgrading to the latest version to better manage your business.

If you need assistance with upgrading your QBDT account, please let us know, and we will be happy to help you through the process.

QuickBooks 2018 desktop on windows 11. Any issues?

@MirriamM  The OP is asking if anybody who has made the jump to Windows 11 is having issues with QB 2018; I imagine this question is driven by the October 2025 deadline to upgrade to Windows 11 for free.

So, there isn't any more information to provide.

@smbdn

Yes. We can run it on Win 11 Home without any issue. You may encounter problems when reactivating your license later.

QuickBooks 2018 desktop on windows 11. Any issues?

I updated to windows 11 and use QB 2018. When I got the new computer, I reloaded QB from the account online and accessed my account without issue.

However, the font is tiny. There is no explanation and Microsoft 365 says they don't know why. If I increase the system Display size to 125% it's larger but throws off all other apps.

I don't see any sort of compatibility settings and am not sure if that is the issue.

I do NOT want to upgrade to a more recent version of QB.

QuickBooks 2018 desktop on windows 11. Any issues?

Hi, @Beryl.

If your QuickBooks screen appears small, we have to make some adjustments. Here are a few setting suggestions to correct your screen display size.

First, let's try setting up your scale to 100 percent. It gives you a crisper, clearer view, as it matches the screen's native resolution perfectly. Here's how:

  1. Open your QuickBooks Desktop.
  2. Go to Edit, then Preferences.
  3. Choose Desktop View.
  4. Under My Preferences, in the Window Settings, select Display.
  5. Under the System Display, scroll down and click Scale.
  6. Choose 100 percent.

Next, let's adjust your Display resolution to 16000 x 900. Getting the resolution right can clarify visuals and ensure everything on your screen looks exactly as it should. I'll show you how:

  1. Follow the steps 1 to 4 above to be redirected to the Display settings.
  2. Look for Display resolution under the Scale & Layout.
  3. In the Display resolution, choose 1600 x 900.

If the issue persists after following the steps I provided, it's advisable to consult an IT professional to examine your display settings and resolve the display problems.

If you have any other questions or concerns about QuickBooks, feel encouraged to let us know in the comments below.
