With the new update, why is the checking account harder to access and not have a shortcut at the bottom like there used to be?

There needs to be a customizing feature to add frequently used tabs

Welcome to the Community, Meads!

The new update in QuickBooks Online (QBO) comes with an option to customize your dashboard, making it easier to access important features like your checking account.

Here’s how:

  1. Log in to your QBO account.
  2. On the Dashboard, click the Customize icon.
  3. Select Add or Remove Widgets.
  4. Check the box for Bank Accounts.
  5. Click Save to apply the changes.

With the new update, why is the checking account harder to access and not have a shortcut at the bottom like there used to be?

Hi, I should have specified the mobile app as that's how i mainly access my account daily. When i first started using QB online there was an icon at the bottom next to the dashboard widget for checking. The next update i had to go to the menu widget to access checking. Now this update i have to go to menu, then find cash flow, then tap on view account to open up the checking and envelopes. It just feels like its way harder to access than it should be. Withe there only being 3 widgets at the bottom of the main screen (dashboard, sales and menu) there seems to be plenty of room for another widget. I don't see a way of customizing them on the app. The desktop site is taking some getting used to but its fine. Its the mobile app that's my concern. Thanks

Thank you for getting back to us, meadsautomotiveandweldingllc.

I understand how important it is to have quick and convenient access to your checking account on the mobile app for day-to-day management. Easy navigation and customization options can go a long way in optimizing efficiency and enhancing the user experience.

While adding a shortcut or widget for checking or customizing the bottom navigation bar would be helpful, it’s currently not possible in the QuickBooks Online mobile app. As an alternative, you can use the Frequently Used section in the Menu for quicker access to Cash flow and other commonly used features.

We encourage you to submit this valuable idea to our product engineers for consideration in future updates. User feedback is key for app development, and your suggestion for more customization is a valuable enhancement. To send your feedback, follow these steps:

  1. Tap the Menu icon then scroll down and choose Send feedback
  2. Type in your recommendation in the Share your feedback field.
  3. Click Send feedback to submit.
