Hi there, baynax. I'm here to get the help you need in installing QuickBooks Desktop Accountant 2018.
Before we get started, please know that QuickBooks Desktop 2018 is no longer supported since it was already discontinued last May 31, 2021. This means that you won't have access to live technical support or any other Intuit services that can be integrated with QuickBooks Desktop. Additionally, you won't receive the latest critical security patches and updates. However, you can still use QuickBooks Desktop Accountant 2018 for basic accounting functions.
To begin the installation, you can follow these steps:

Is your client using QBD 2018 Enterprise?
Hello,
I was able to get all the way up to communicating with the CEO of Intuit online about three years ago concerning the issues I was having in upgrading to any newer edition of Quickbooks from my Quickbooks Enterprise Solutions - Accountant Edition 18.0 software. In the past since 1995 when I first started using Quickbooks, I could always upgrade to a newer software no matter what name it was given. It was just that whatever newer software I was buying into had a limit as far as what features were offering from before, oftentimes many new features and improvements were made automatically, with some having less report features than before, or I would buy a Premier edition and get the full features. Sadly, it has changed, and I think that Quickbooks no longer supports small businesses due to its increasing prices on its software. Being able to afford business accounting software for the new business is way out there for most now. The CEO was very hands off and said to talk with support. I had already talked with support about this issue, but there have been some changes in the last few years, so I'm trying again before I really get more angry. Maybe at least I made a dent in solving the problem, we'll see, but maybe not. What are my options now? Is the new Quickbooks online able to accept any past qb files, and is this the best option without losing any past data?
I had problems a few years ago upgrading my Quickbooks Enterprise Solutions - Accountant Edition 18.0 to any newer edition. I used to be able to do it all the time and I think the CEO and other employees didn't pick up how important this was for its past business customers. It seems that the company got off track and it has lost a lot of customers since it delays upgrading, sales and produces flight to other business accounting software solutions. I don't want to lose any of my previous data. How do I upgrade to a newer version? Since I used multiple businesses with one software program, can I use the new software and/or online solution to upgrade without any data loss?
Where is your company located? US or another country?
You can still purchase QB Desktop 2024 Enterprise to upgrade your version.
I appreciate your loyalty in using QuickBooks since 1995, Itsells. I understand how important it is to find a solution that works for your business without losing access to your past data. Let's work together to find the best option for your needs.
One option to consider is upgrading to QuickBooks Desktop Enterprise 2024, as recommended by SIAB. This update will not only preserve your existing data but also provide the advanced features needed to manage multiple businesses within a single program.
If you choose this option, I recommend contacting our Sales Team for assistance. They can guide you through purchasing, upgrading, and reviewing the best choice suitable for your business needs.
Another option is to switch to QuickBooks Online. Yes, this software accepts past QuickBooks Desktop files by migrating your data.
However, not all features in QuickBooks Desktop are available in the online version. You can check out our article on how features and data transfer to QuickBooks Online for more information.
Since managing multiple businesses is a key aspect of your operations, you will have to set up a separate plan for each one, as QuickBooks Online requires an individual subscription for every company file.
