I do wonder sometimes that the QBO web portal has a memory leak or is just plain terrible at handling it's memory usage. I have seen it as high as 4.5 gig before today! Crazy usage the type of web site it is.
This is on Safari on MacOS and is even worse when using Firefox! It would be great if this was passed on to the web dev team, although I'm sure they are aware of how it hogs memory.
Getting this issue with your browser's memory leak resolved is our top priority, Mark. Let me assist you by providing troubleshooting steps and helping you send feedback about this experience to our developers.
The first thing we can do is to log in to your QBO account using a private window. Thus, there are times when too much historical data from the browser causes discrepancies that affect the view and performance of your QuickBooks.
To help us determine if this is a browser-related issue, feel free to use either of these keyboard shortcuts to open an incognito window, depending on your browser:
If it works, you can return to your original browser and clear its cache, not the cookies, to start fresh. You can also try using another supported, up-to-date browser that is already installed to narrow down the results.
Moreover, this would be a great time to submit your feedback experience to our Product Development Team. They'll be able to review your insights regarding this matter. Here's how:

But........ it's their TOP priority!
A bit like the cursor on a new entry, or my current headbanger. Tabbing on Safari is totally broken.
One step forward, 3 back....
We are seeing the same issue, after half a day of use it's 2GB of RAM.
QuickBooks Online (QBO) follows a specific recommended system requirements in order to have a smooth and optimal performance, Bradley.
For Windows users, it is recommended to have Windows 10 installed, an Intel Core i5 processor (or an equivalent released in 2015 or later), and at least 4GB of RAM for optimal performance when using QuickBooks. However, the software can still function on systems with a minimum of 2GB of RAM and an Intel Core i3 processor.
To give you more details, I've added this article which outlines the operating systems requirements and recommended internet speeds necessary for using QuickBooks. While the article is tailored to the International version, the system requirements apply equally to the UK version: System Requirement for QuickBooks Online Products.

Hi Maria,
The problem is that there is a memory leak. As Quickbooks online is being used the memory consumed grows until the computer runs our of RAM and virtual memory. Does it matter if we're using Chrome? Do you suggest a different browser?
