I am writing to bring to your attention a discrepancy observed between the bill amount recorded in Hubdoc and the corresponding entry in QuickBooks Online (QBO). In Hubdoc, the total bill amount is $980.84, which comprises: Subtotal: $868.00 HST (13%): $112.84 However, in QBO, the same bill is reflecting a total amount of $880.98, indicating a difference of almost 100
I've got your back, @Nirmalp. I know how essential it is to accurately transfer transaction amounts from Hubdoc to QuickBooks Online to maintain precise financial records.
The accuracy of QuickBooks Online data relies on the information transferred from Hubdoc. Given the discrepancy in the total amount, I suggest contacting Hubdoc to confirm whether any specific functions need to be activated during the data transfer process.
In the meantime, you can manually edit the transaction in QuickBooks Online that was created with the incorrect amount.
Here's how:

After verifying the proper process for transferring data from Hubdoc to QuickBooks Online, ensure that you track the transactions that have already been transferred and corrected to prevent duplicate entries.
Maintaining a balanced set of accounts at the end of each period is crucial, as it ensures accountability and reliability. If you have any further comments or need clarification, feel free to respond at your convenience.
Actually, this is not an issue related to Hubdoc. Earlier this month, I received a pop-up notification from QuickBooks Online (QBO) indicating a problem with HST. Additionally, I'm encountering errors when posting entries from the Bank Transactions page. For example, when I post a single transaction in the bank ledger, it appears as two entries, though the overall debit amount matches. These issues are occurring for transactions dated from October 1st to October 3rd.
I see how frustrating it can be when unexpected discrepancies arise and affect your financial transactions, Nirmalp.
You mentioned receiving a notification earlier about an HST issue in QuickBooks Online (QBO). Could you please specify the problem mentioned?
QuickBooks data depends on the information transferred from external platforms. If you've contacted Huboc and confirmed that the issue isn't on their end, the difference in the bill amount may be due to how taxes are calculated based on your QBO tax settings.
To verify, review the rate configuration in your tax settings and ensure the HST rate is set up correctly.
When posting entries from the Bank Transactions page, can you specify the specific errors you receive? Providing this information will help us provide the appropriate resolution.
Duplicate entries occur when you manually create transactions that were already imported from an external platform or connected bank account.
To prevent this from happening, make sure to match any existing transactions. If QBO detects an existing transaction that matches one from your bank feed, it will show the Match option. Always click on it to combine these records instead of manually creating new entries.
Please let us know if you need additional clarification or have further concerns by leaving a reply below. We would be happy to provide more assistance.
Initially, I thought the issue was related to Hubdoc. However, after receiving a pop-up from QuickBooks Online (QBO)(I couldn't find the pop-up now), I realized it wasn't Hubdoc. And another example, when posting an entry from the bank transaction page, it appears twice in the books, but the net amount matches. I've checked for similar issues and found that I'm only experiencing this problem on October 1st. I manually corrected 10+ invoices posted.
