Frequently my Auto Tracking Mileage in the app does not record a trip. I think it's because QuickBooks logs me out of the app all the time. How can I correct this?

I know how handy the mileage tracking app is in QuickBooks Online as it takes away some of the manual entry needed in your books. I want to make sure that the feature is set up and working properly for you so that you can have confidence that it's tracking your trips as you'd like.

 

The mileage tracking is designed to work in the background, collecting data even if you don't have the app open. The app may ask you to sign in each time as a security feature, but should still work in the background. I recommend starting with this article to make sure that your setup is just as it needs to be: Set up mileage tracking and vehicles in QuickBooks Online and QuickBooks Self-Employed

 

You can also try uninstalling and reinstalling the app to see if this helps fix the tracking issue. Uninstalling and reinstalling helps clear the app cache completely and is one of the best ways to ensure that it's up-to-date, even if your app store shows it is. When you want to reinstall it, choose QuickBooks Accounting, which is the QuickBooks Online mobile app.
