The program is designed to use the business address based on the country you've selected during the setup.
You might have signed up for QBO Australia. This maybe the reason the system won't allow you to enter a US state for your company address.
To help fix this, you can sign up again with the correct country. Here's how:
- Go to https://quickbooks.intuit.com/.
- Scroll down the page and make sure the United States is selected as the country on the Select a Country drop-down.

- Select either Buy now & Save or 30-day free trial.
- Choose your plan (Simple Start, Essentials, Plus, Advanced), then click Buy now.
After you've signed up, you can enter the US state as your company address. Here's how:
- Go to the Gear icon at the upper right.
- Under Your company, select Account and Settings.
- Choose Company from the left menu.
- On the Address section, enter your company address.

- Click Save and Done.
