Hi Community! We’re back with another Quick Start with an Expert to chat about 3 ways you can make the most of your QuickBooks Online account. Our expert this month is Clay Wilson, and with his 6 years of QuickBooks knowledge he has some tips and tricks up his sleeve to share with you all.

Let’s jump right in! 

Custom Fields 
Custom fields in QuickBooks Online Advanced are a great way to get more specific insights into your business that fit you! You can set them up for customers, vendors, projects, and transactions. In reports, you can add custom fields as columns, sort items by a custom field, group items by a custom field, and filter items. This helps to see the key details about each transaction or line item, keep everything more organized, and see just the data you’re interested in.

Besides text, you can also create custom dropdown data and number fields. Plus, you can add up to 12 custom fields for each type of form (invoice, estimate, purchase order, expense, bill, and so on).  So try out custom fields if you haven't already to see if it may help you organize your QuickBooks in a more efficient way!

Automated Workflows

Have regular work that you find you need to re-enter often? Consider automated workflows to see if QuickBooks may be able to do that work for you! You can also set approvals and notifications to ensure that work always stays on track. QuickBooks can automate common tasks such as sending payment reminders, new invoices to customers, or even sending reminders to to your team to complete specific tasks!
