how do you see old journal entries

Hi there, info2086.

Thanks for taking the time to visit the Community. I'd be glad to assist you with locating your old Journal Entries (JE) in QuickBooks Online.

To view your old JE here's how:

  1. At the top left corner, select the + New.
  2. In the other column, click Journal Entry.
  3. Choose the icon with a counterclockwise arrow in the top left corner.
  4. Click View More.
  5. You can now view your old journal entries and apply filters to access any specific information you require.

For more details on the Journal feature in QuickBooks Online, check out this article: Journal entries in QuickBooks Online.

Aside from that, you can run the Journal report. Then, apply a few filters to find the journal entry based on the amount. Here's how:

  1. Go to the Reports menu and type in Journal in the Search bar.
  2. Customise the Report date according to your preferred date.
  3. Click Filter, then proceed to the first line and select Transaction type under transaction type Equals, then Journal Entry.
  4. In the Columns section, check the box corresponding to the transaction you want to display in your report.
