Hi all, my Sales report summary by product has a line showing journals etc - I want this removed from the sales report as its throwing out Quantity and Amount € -

The Sales by Product/Service Summary report is designed to focus on product and service sales. But there are journal entries that will affect the customer's income account, Rebecca.

You can click on the journal entry line to see the transactions behind the data. These entries show when they affect sales or revenue accounts, even without directly referencing items.

To clean up the report, apply item-based filters. Since journal entries don't include items, filtering by specific products or services will automatically exclude them.

Follow the steps below to ensure your report will only display products or services linked to sales transactions.

Here's how:

For  modern view report

  1. Go to Reports.
  2. Select Standard reports.
  3. Type Sales by Product/Service Summary
  4. Under Filter, choose Product/Service Summary, and is not empty.

Classic view:

  1. Go to Reports and select Standard reports.
  2. Search for Sales by Product/Service Summary.
  3. Click Customize.
  4. Under Filter, choose Product/Service Summary, then Specified.
  5. Hit run Report.

If the journal entries continue to interfere, or you're noticing unusual behavior. I suggest double-checking the entries and reaching out to your accountant for guidance to check each transaction.
