Can I create journal report by classes?

It's great to have you here, May14. Yes, we can create a report that shows journal entries by class in QuickBooks Online (QBO). Let me guide you through the process.

Here’s how you can customize the Transaction Detail by Account report to achieve this, depending on whether you’re using the modern or classic report view:

If you're using the Modern view:

  1. Navigate to the Reports menu.
  2. In the search bar, type Transaction Detail by Account and select it.
  3. Set your desired Report period.
  4. Click on Columns, and ensure the Class and Transaction type checkbox is selected.

  5. Hit the Filter, and under the Transaction Type, select equals, then choose Journal Entry.

Additionally, you can refer to this article to learn how to export your QBO reports to Excel. This will allow you to tailor your data analysis further, combine it with other information, or keep offline records for your convenience: Export your reports to Excel from QuickBooks Online.

We’ll be around if you need further assistance customizing your reports, managing classes, or have any other QBO-related questions, May14. Please feel free to reply below, and we’ll be happy to provide the support and details you need. Take care!
