To verify my understanding, are you working with a non-sufficient funds (NDS) hold on your payroll service? NSF holds are the result of failed payroll transactions. Failed transactions are usually a paycheck, they can also be other payroll transactions. These are caused by not having sufficient funds in the payroll bank account. They can also happen when there's changes to your payroll bank account, or on the payee's bank.
You can access your Payroll Admin email account to retrieve the NSF notification. Your return code (R01, R09, etc.) will be available in the email message.
To fix this:
- The Principal Officer or Primary Principal must be available to start payment.
- You must have access to your bank account (online or in-person) to complete a wire transfer.
- You'll need knowledge of the payroll funding time (same-day, next-day, 2-day, or 5-day).
Initially, you'll need to retrieve your return code:
- When the transaction failed, an email was sent to the Primary Admin, Principal Officer, or accountant for your company. That email contains a return code and instructions on what to do next.
• Intuit Payroll Services Action Required: Partial Payment Received
• Intuit Payroll Services Action Required: Payment Request for Failed Payroll Debit
• Important: Tax Payment Unsuccessful. Urgent Issue with the Payroll account for [Business Name]
• Important Direct Deposit Payment Unsuccessful. Urgent Issue with the Payroll account for [Business Name]
- If the Payroll Admin listed on your account didn't receive their email, have them check the junk or spam folder.
- In the event you can't find your email, you'll need to get in touch with our Customer Care team to help you resolve your NSF hold.
If you were able to retrieve the code, you can proceed with Step 2: Choose your resolution path based on the return code in our Resolve a non-sufficient funds (NSF) hold article.
Please don't hesitate to send a reply if there's any additional questions or information you'd like to provide. Have a wonderful Friday!
