Hi there, jcmurray.

You don’t need to pay again to download the QuickBooks Self-Employed app on your mobile phones. However, please note that you cannot install this app if you haven’t downloaded it before. I’ll be glad to explain this further.

Please know the QBSE mobile app have been discontinued and no longer available for download after March 24, 2024. As a result, users who haven't downloaded the app before this date won't be able to install and use it on their mobile devices. Instead, they can opt to use the web browser version.

On the other hand, if you downloaded the app before this date, you can still reinstall it from your app store. To successfully reinstall, please ensure you use the same app store account that you originally used to download the app.

For further assistance on how to redownload apps that you have previously purchased, please refer to the following articles provided by Apple and Google:

For reference, please check out this article: QuickBooks Self-Employed mobile app availability update.

Moreover, if you're a new user interested in a mobile solution, we recommend checking out QuickBooks Solopreneur. This product is designed for solo entrepreneurs and includes features to manage both business and personal transactions, track mileage, and evaluate business performance.

QuickBooks Solopreneur users can access their accounts via the QuickBooks mobile app, available for download at:

Additionally, here's a helpful article that will assist you in organizing your transactions with QBSE: Schedule C and expense categories in QuickBooks Solopreneur and QuickBooks Self-Employed.
