Before we proceed, could you share the name of your financial institution? Any details you provide will help us better understand the situation and provide the best possible solution. 

 

Error 101 can show up when connecting your bank to QuickBooks Online (QBO) for a few reasons:

 

  • You're adding an inactive account, which means it has no transactions in the last 12 months.
  • You haven’t accepted the terms and conditions from your bank's website.

 

To fix error 101, here are the steps we recommend:

 

  1. Sign in to your bank's website in a new tab or a different browser to see if you can get in without errors.
  2. Check if your account is active. It's considered one if there’s an existing balance or there are transactions from the past 12 months. If your account should be active but you’re unable to sign in online, it’s best to contact your bank directly.
  3. Look for any alerts or prompts requiring your attention, such as new terms and conditions. If you see them, review and acknowledge them. After that, go back to QBO and refresh your bank connection.

Try opening your QBO account on any private/incognito browser. If the same error persists, use csv2qbo converter tool as a workaround. It's a $60 one time license.
