cant import my products

The time and effort you've invested in importing your data is valued, Jose. Let's work together to determine why you're experiencing difficulties in importing your products.

There are several helpful tips to ensure a smooth import process of your products into QuickBooks Online (QBO). Below, I'll outline the following formatting tips:

  • Product/Service Name: 100 character limit. Avoid special characters. See the approved characters list for more info.
  • Income Account: You can't use subaccounts.
  • Quantity as-of Date: Format like this: MM/DD/YYYY or DD/MM/YYYY
  • Income and Expense account: You can't use subaccounts.
  • Import limit: 1000 rows. If your list is longer, split it up into multiple, smaller files.

After ensuring everything is formatted accordingly, let's perform some basic troubleshooting procedures to determine if this is a browser-related issue. Let's start by using a different browser. Sometimes, problems can arise from browser issues, such as a full cache or outdated files. If the same issue persists, try logging into your QBO account using a private browsing window or incognito mode. This will provide a fresh browsing experience, as it doesn't retain cookies, history, or cached data from previous sessions.

Refer to the following keyboard shortcuts:

  • Google Chrome: Ctrl + Shift + N
  • Mozilla Firefox: Ctrl + Shift + P
  • Microsoft Edge: Ctrl + Shift + N
  • Safari: Command + Shift + N

If the private browsing session works, the next step is to clear your browser's cache to refresh the system and resolve any persistent problems. Be sure to do this on supported and updated web browsers for optimal performance with QuickBooks.
