Hi wildmohican. Thank you for reaching out here in the Community and for providing the details about your concern.
When importing transactions to QuickBooks Online (QBO), it will accept files in the following formats:
QBO also supports files in either a 3-column or 4-column format. The 3-column format requires the headers to be Date, Description, and Amount, while the 4-column format needs headers to be Date, Description, Credit, and Debit. Please see the attached image for reference on these formats:
Since the data extracted from eBay typically has a different format and includes more than four column headers, QBO may either misinterpret it or fail to accept the file altogether.
However, eBay is one of the third-party applications supported by QBO. To simplify the process and ensure a smooth import of your historical transactions, I recommend connecting eBay to QBO directly. Through this integration, the system will map and import eBay transactions properly into QBO.
To connect eBay to QBO, you can refer to this article: Connect eBay to QuickBooks Online.
Additionally, if you'd like to automatically categorize your transactions during the import process, you can set up bank rules. These rules allow you to specify conditions and categorizations in organizing your financial data.
