Hello, 

I've been facing this same issue and it seems I share a lot of similarities as other users that had this problem. My QB file is stored on a remote desktop computer because we use FishBowl for inventory management.  We also have an Avalara plugin for QB desktop.  I've tried following these steps but I get an error that says "Your folder can't be shared."  I've called QB support and been on the phone nearly 2 hours now.  They just keep putting me through the run-around to try and troubleshoot this issue.  They won't listen to the fact that I found this forum, and it appears this is the solution to my problem.  Can someone else please try to help me out?
